Connectivity to Melkbosstrand I would like to acknowledge and apologise for the service disruptions that have been experienced in the Melkbos area over the past two and a half monthsTo date, the network topology in Melkbos has required us to utilise a third-party vendor to provide backhaul connectivity between the Octotel Melkbos network and the Octotel interconnect site that exists in the Blouberg Strand area. Even with specific redundancy measures and protocols in place to mitigate any network downtime, the recent network Service disruptions and associated remedial time frames are just not acceptable. To this end, I completely understand and accept the frustrations being experienced by the Melkbos community, and I would like to assure you that Octotel has already started implementing a new network topology that will allow us to have full control and management of the entire Melkbos network. These network changes are a priority and will be completed within the next 6 weeks. Until such time, we have taken additional steps to ensure that we are able to improve service levels on the existing 3rd party infrastructure. I would like to stress that we take network performance and service levels in all our network environments very seriously. Regardless of network topology type. Octotel is responsible for ensuring that you experience the best high-speed fibre at all times. We are committed to these obligations.Apologies once again for the frustration that has been experienced to date. Regards, Scott Cunningham Chief Operating Officer Octotel |
