History of iBurst

WBS Holdings (Pty) Ltd (WBSH) was established in 1997 and holds a National Mobile Data Telecommunication license, as well as the South African license for the iBurst mobile broadband Internet technology. WBSH is a shareholder in iBurst (Pty) Ltd trading as iBurst, which has been operational since 1 April 2005.

Intellicell

iBurst services are based on IntelliCell technology from ArrayComm in the US. They maintain extreme levels of efficiency, using available radio frequencies.Through advanced algorithms, IntelliCell’s adaptive antenna technology adjusts signal patterns to and from each subscriber, creating a ’personal cell’ for efficient delivery of voice or data services.

What is iBurst?

iBurst is the name given to a wireless service developed by ArrayComm & Kyocera and is licensed to Wireless Business Solutions in South Africa.This service allows users to receive a proprietary signal transmitted from a network of towers in the major centres in South Africa. iBurst is also available in Japan and Australia.
